My vote is yes to all of the above!    What would it take to book the cruise?   Some phone calls?  I would imagine they would want an approximate number in order to give us the cost...

The tour of the school would also require some phone calls.  Who would need to be contacted to set that up?

I'd recommend Jim or Shawn Quirk at Shoreline Cruise!

Are we talking October 7th or October 15th?

The federal and NYS holiday is Mon, 10/9, so Connie & Pete's suggestion is the Saturday before, 10/7.

Ok, I'll see what they would want! Do you think 50 is a safe number?

At the 40th reunion the informal get together at Humbugs seemed like a good time by all. Music & drinks. Will there be any entertainment at the community center

Kevin, I believe the cruise would be on Sunday, with the school tour and dinner on Saturday.   ( unless the school would be willing to do the tour on Sunday.   Would a cruise and a dinner be too much for one day or not?)

I vote yes for that weekend. Thanks Connie and Pete for keeping this moving!

I would think Saturday for the cruise as people will be heading home Sunday. What do others think? Or the school tour Saturday and cruise on Sunday?

Vanessa,

I think maybe the cruise on Saturday afternoon , and ending the day with the dinner.  Maybe even doing the tour Saturday morning.   Then whoever wants to could get together for breakfast Sunday morning 🤷‍♀️

The Superintendent called me yesterday. She offered the following: she could do school tours for our 50th reunion group on Fri 10/6 from 5:30-6:30 pm. There is a 7pm home football game that night they play Queensbury, It's also Senior's night. She also offered to do tours on Sat 10/8 from 10-11AM and 11-12. She is holding those days & times in her calendar until she hears back from me. (School tours have been popular & get booked )  She also offered Massies front restaurant  was open again & she thought possible the owner might be willing to open the entire place for our group for a private party (stay closed to the public) & that it would make a great venue for us.

PS For those who may not know, in early April I was to ask the Superintendent for the fall football home game schedule & the homecoming date & school tour info . There was an expressed interest in trying to coordinate  those activities (as well as having a dinner & fall cruise) .  When K Orr, the Superintendent  called me, she apologized it took her so long to get the fall schedule in order to get back to me. (i was concerned I was being a pest following up every week!) She honestly seems very interested in helping us any way she can, that's why she blocked her calendar for our school tours.

I vote yes to Columbus day weekend. Friday night, informal meeting at Common Roots, Saturday morning school tour would be nice followed by cruise in early afternoon, then informal dinner at the Community Center. At this location, we could all bring an appetizer of some type and bring our own alcohol if we want to. That would leave Sunday free if people have to leave to go home, but if any want to meet for breakfast before they leave that's available too.

Sherry, Thanks so much for posting what the school offered. So many great options!! I wonder what the fee for Massies would be for private party versus Moreau Community Center.

I have seen many great ideas for the Bulldogs 50th reunion.
I shall toss out another idea.
There are lots of ideas to be packed into the weekend. From a get together on Friday night to the school tour on Saturday and adinner Saturday Night. And cruise on Sunday. A thought I have is a get together Friday evening school tour Saturday. Then Saturday night Dinner dance cruise on the big boat at Lake George Boat Company. That way friends from out of town could do the dinner and cruise all at once and have Sunday to travel home. Just another idea to think about

I like the idea of the school tour Friday night followed by the football game. Though my kids did not go to South High, many nieces and nephews did and I have twin nephews that will be attending preschool by then.

I would much rather have dinner at Massie's then the Community Center. I can check on a Saturday afternoon cruise for 30-40 people, or more for Saturday. If that's the general consensus???

I should have answered Connie & Pete, apologize, somehow my member responses were turned off? Yes re Columbus Day weekend!  I like both Vanessa Fri night School Tour & either football game or Daniels cocktail idea at common grounds . I Like Craig's idea Sat for Dinner & dancing  & cruise all in one. my concern re  Monreau Community Center being a seated dinner is how to socialize & talk with many people when you are seated, it's very limiting. Then add in having no music, no dancing  or any decor, the atmosphere could also be challenging. Our 50th reunion is a really special time, sadly many, too many of our classmates are no longer with us to celebrate. Then many other classmates will  have expenses to travel & may  want more a special event to make it worthwhile? There have to be reasons why our previous reunion attendance is not what it could and should be so we should try something different. Could we establish  a committee of volunteers to locate  the missing members of our class, kevin is it apx 80?

I'll call Shoreline Cruise tomorrow or stop in there to see if they're still gonna be sailing in October. The Horicon can handle 80 people for a dinner cruise!

I also can get a very good band for the event!

I like the idea of the school tour Friday evening and the choice of either the football game or cocktails.  I hadn't thought about a dinner cruise-  what a great idea!
