Do any of you who attended Moreau school remember any of the following names,  Jay Lamica,  Jay Holtz,  Gregg Yeoman, and Craig Walden,  I think I've come close to spelling their names right.  Anyway, all these people went to to school with us there and then moved away,  except maybe Jay Holtz,  he seemed to have just disappeared.   Have any of you ever heard from any of these people?

Hi Everyone,

This weekend is the SGF Marathon Dance and one of our own is a recipient.  Ed Allen, Class of '73 has been diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma and has been fighting this cancer for 7 years.

Here is the link to see the video of Ed and his family.  Very proud of my Alma Mater and all those kids who danced!

Hi everyone!  I am checking in to see if we are going to have a 50th reunion.  I am more than willing to help any way I can.    Plus I want to be sure I can spend time visiting with my family and friends 😊

It has been a long, long time since I have heard anything about a 50th high school reunion this year.  I need to plan my trip back to SGF to see family and I wanted to plan around the reunion.  So sad that the reunion might not happen.  Life goes on and I need to plan my trip.  Wish everyone health and happiness!

Yeah I thought everything was moving along with making details  and then all of a sudden nothing . I live in the area but would still enjoy a get together

I'm with Mr. Gilligan on this. I've lived in Glens Falls just shy of 30 years and would enjoy even a casual get together!

In the interest of keeping the ball rolling for our 50th Reunion...we thought we would put out a proposition to be voted on... based on the prior submitted ideas... and for a suggested date of Columbus Day Weeekend.

We (Pete and Connie) are volunteering to organize a dinner on Saturday, October 7th at the Moreau Community Center. We will get a simple catered dinner for approximately $20 + $5 room rental per person.  Everyone can bring their own drinks (it is ok to bring in alcohol) and an appetizer to share if they want.

Someone else can volunteer to arrange a Friday night get-together at Common Roots (or another place?).  That would be a buy your own drinks and/or dinner.

Someone else can volunteer to set up a tour of the school.

Someone else can volunteer to set up a Sunday Lake George Cruise.

If no one volunteers for the other events (Friday night, School tour or Sunday cruise), we just won't have those events.

Just to keep it simple... we won't have decorations, programs, or books unless again, someone wants to volunteer to do it.

If someone has better ideas and you don't want to do it this way, that's fine... just vote NO.

Please reply with your vote in this forum by July 1st.

Vote Yes or No for the date... Columbus Day Wkend.

Vote Yes or No for the Moreau Community Center Dinner.  Volunteer for the other events (or come up with your own idea).

P.S.   Thanks so much to Kevin for all his work setting up this great forum and for getting us this far.

Do we have any idea yet on how many classmates want to get together on Friday evening and dinner Saturday evening as well as the school tour and cruise ??

Keith Gilligan

Yes

I vote yes for Colombus Day weekend. I think if there's a group that wants to get together Friday night at Common Roots we can just get together there. I'm not sure how many would be interested. I would be coming in from out of town.

Sorry for the apparent "ghosting!" I'm still working full time, am a board member of an active not-for-profit, and (frankly) was a bit disheartened by the sporadic responses to my earlier emails. Having said that, I had not given up!

Connie & Pete, thanks for volunteering to lead the Saturday event! I expect that will be the most significant. A big "yes" from me re the weekend, venue, and food plan.

Now that we have a projected date:

Dan Cottrell (I had originally typed "Danny" because that's how I still think of the name) knows the guy at Common Roots. Dan, can you check with him if there is something that could be sort-of reserved Friday evening, without costing much or anything?

Sherry (Hiter) Neble has been in contact with the SGF CSD Superintendent. Sherry, do you have any thoughts on arranging a tour?

Anyone else want to volunteer?

Oh, I'll volunteer to print name tags. I THINK I can use yearbook photos on them. I know that would help ME!

Hi Connie & Kevin,  I just spoke to Dan Biddescomb from Common Roots. He is a SGF graduate and the events planner for Common Roots. I tentatively reserved Friday October 6, from around 4-7. He has another event planned for the new building on the same day accommodating 150 people from a wedding party. Not knowing our numbers right now, I estimated our attendance at about 50.  Let me know if you would like me to pursue the venue. Thanks!

Thanks Connie and Pete, I think the community center sounds great. It hasn't been 50 years, has it? We aren't that old!(Are we?)

Yes to Columbus Day Weekend.  Since I will be coming from out of town and have not been in the area for many years, I am not able to volunteer for the events/decorating listed.  I can surely help with clean up at the Community Center if needed.  Thanks for all. your hard work and those who have volunteered.  It has been 50 years for me since I have seen classmates.

My vote is yes to all of the above!    What would it take to book the cruise?   Some phone calls?  I would imagine they would want an approximate number in order to give us the cost...

05/25/23 09:02 PM #53

Natalie VanGuilder (Hoeppner)

The tour of the school would also require some phone calls.  Who would need to be contacted to set that up?

05/26/23 02:14 PM #54

Kevin Costello

I'd recommend Jim or Shawn Quirk at Shoreline Cruise!

Are we talking October 7th or October 15th?

05/26/23 03:38 PM #56

Kevin Chamberlain

The federal and NYS holiday is Mon, 10/9, so Connie & Pete's suggestion is the Saturday before, 10/7.
